Nottingham Contemporary
"The History Of Nottingham Contemporary
Nottingham Contemporary is built on one of Nottingham’s most historic sites, home to the original Saxon settlement, the medieval Town Hall, and the Victorian railway that scythed through the city. We commissioned the historian Chris Matthews to research our site for us. His fascinating document can be downloaded here" (Nottingham Contemporary http://www.nottinghamcontemporary.org/about-us/)
One inspiration was the surrounding Lace Market, specifically the bold, elegant design of the warehouses that serviced the city's world famous trade in the 19th century.
Reflection:
Nottingham Contemporary is an international art centre with a strong sense of local purpose. Our Joe and Jane recommend this many times, and then I really indeed visited hear for three times.
to sum up, i have got different sense in different time. space form and organised. Personally, Nottingham contemporary has great function space, when I across story to exhibition halls which provide few opinion for me, and as well has difference characteristic, and then the coffee at down stair.
Actually when I first time arrived Nottingham contemporary which really make me chaos, I mean the control about circulation. But than i realize than this is a other way to led people can have more flexible space.
